Thank you to everyone who came into the studio for our very first Pet Portrait Day. It was a huge success and we look forward to hosting another pet portrait event in 2024. This page will be updated with the 2024 information nearer to the time.

Calling all pet parents in Bristol and beyond! Our tails are wagging with excitement to introduce our newest open day event at our photography studio in Downend, Bristol. We’re so excited to confirm our very first Pet Portrait Day at West 70 Photography on Saturday 18th November 2023 from 10am until 3pm (approx.). We’re throwing open our photography studio doors to celebrate and photograph your furry companions in all their adorable glory!

Say Cheese: Our Pet Portrait Day is a fantastic opportunity to capture your pet’s paw-sitive vibes forever. Swing by with your fur-baby for a mini photo-shoot session in our pet-friendly photography studio. The mini photo-shoot portrait session with your pet will take up to ten minutes. Our talented photographers will capture every wag and meow that makes your pet unique. It’s a relaxed environment and your pet will have some dedicated time in the studio with just them, so it’s safe to let them off lead and let them have a sniff around.

Here’s The Deal: The £25 fee (per pet photographed) includes a mini pet portrait session that’ll make your heart melt, plus your choice of 1x digital image. We’ll email you a private gallery of all the tail-twitchingly cute final images and you pick which one you’d like. There’s also the option to buy more than just the 1x digital image, if you’d like. It’s like getting the royal treatment for your pet without breaking the bank. There will also be options to add-on, if you’d like, and to upgrade your photoshoot (but these will be optional and there’s no obligation and zero pressure to spend). 

Special Surprises Await: But wait, there’s more! Our studio is buzzing with excitement about the Pet Portrait Day and we want to share the love. Well behaved pets of all ages are welcome and don’t worry the studio floor – it’s easily cleaned in case of any excited accidents!

A Few Fur-tastic Details:

• 🐕 Furry Friends Galore: Cats, dogs, and other pet friends are welcome to attend!
• 🕒 Short and Sweet: Each mini session lasts around 10 minutes – no need for marathon modelling.
• 🐾 Pet Comfort: We’ve got a cozy waiting area and the studio space will be private / enclosed for your pet’s comfort.
• 🦮 Lead The Way: All pets need to be kept under control and on a lead while in our waiting area. You can remove the lead during your photoshoot.

• 😎 No Pressure: There is absolutely zero  pressure to have to spend more with us – we’ll have some optional add-ons available but there’s no hard sell, promise.
• 💌 Keep an Eye on Your Inbox: Your online gallery link will arrive within approximately 7 days of the event and you can make your selection(s)!

How Does It Work?

Simply show up on the open day between 10am and 3pm with your pet(s). Please keep them on a lead as other pets may be in the studio waiting area (you will be able to remove their lead when we are privately in the studio space for your appointment). There may be a wait if we’re already in the studio with another furry friend, but we won’t keep you waiting long as appointments are 10 minutes each, maximum. You’ll be shown the various options you can pick from (starting at £25 for a single pet photo on our white backdrop). We’ll also have some optional upgrades, such as different backdrops etc but these are all optional and entirely your choice. Staff are there to help and not upsell. Once you pick your pricing option we’ll get you and your pet into the studio and start your photoshoot. We recommend bringing some treats along to reward your pet – we will have some available but we know all pets have different likes/dislikes. Your photoshoot will last up to 10 minutes and we’ll take as many photos as we can during this time. We do have to strictly stick to the 10 minute photoshoot session (to keep it fair for everyone), so if your pet isn’t co-operating at the time you’re welcome to pop back later in the day to keep things moving along. We’ll take your contact information during the photoshoot, so we can send the photos for you to view afterwards. Once your photoshoot is over you’re free to go on with your day. We’ll then email you a private gallery link within 7 days of the open day. This gallery will contain only your pet and we’ll provide as many photos as possible for you to pick from. This will be emailed to you using the email address provided during the appointment. Please check your spam folder as well for our messages (as they sometimes end up there).You’ll get to view your online gallery featuring your pets photographs and make your choice. Included as standard in your fee is one digital image of your choice. The photos you view will have a watermark logo on them, but this isn’t present on your final chosen image(s). There’s no obligation to buy anything more, but you can if you’d like to. Everything is handled via our online gallery so you will be able to download your 1x chosen digital image of your pet right away, and pay for any extras (if required). We also offer prints etc if you’d like, but this is totally optional. And that’s it – from start to finish. We’re happy to answer any questions you might have so please contact us with your queries.

A few bits of additional information: There are no appointments so please just turn up on the day. There may be a wait for your appointment to begin, but we anticipate this will be minimal. It’s first come, first served. We have a waiting area where you’re welcome to wait with your pet. Appointments in the studio with your pet are limited to up to 10 minutes, approx. If it gets very busy we have a waitlist which will be strictly followed and will be names added on a first come, first served basis. If you miss when your appointment is called you will be skipped over and will need to rejoin at the back of the queue. Bringing along some treats or rewards that your pet enjoys is a good idea. Please be aware that other pets may be on the premises, so please make sure your pet is comfortable with this. Any animals attending are the responsibility of their owner and you may be asked to wait outside if causing a disturbance / distress to other pets. Good behaviour is expected from both pets and owners and we reserve the right to decline service. We always welcome well-behaved pets into our studio – during the open day all pets should should have a lead/collar and kept under control. We anticipate photographing dogs and cats, if you have another type of pet you are welcome to visit but please be aware dogs/cats may be present. Each mini appointment will have access to our private enclosed studio space during the photo-shoot session which means your pet can be let off their lead during this time. Your pet should be on a lead at all other times, apart from when being photographed in our studio. During this open day event we’re only taking photographs of pets, which means no humans in the photographs. You can book an appointment online for a standard photoshoot if you’d like to be photographed with your pet. Your gallery of images will be emailed to you within 7 days approx of the event. You will then be able to make your selection of the 1x digital image you wish to download (or more if you opted for a different pricing option). Other images are also available to purchase at an additional cost, optionally. You will need to provide us with an email address so we can send the online gallery link to you. Opening hours are approximate, and may be extended / amended if appointments need to be completed. Please arrive by 3pm as late arrivals may not be able to be accommodated however we will honour all appointments that arrive before 3pm. Payment by card only please, we do not accept cash (and cannot provide change).
